I'm pretty surprised, I must say, but at the same time, I'm satisfied. Steve Jobs, if you didn't know, died earlier today (go to apple's website for a great picture). I wouldn't have guessed that he would have died so soon, but I guess withdrawing from the CEO position all of a sudden made sense. I completely forgot that he had pancreatic cancer, so his death being announced at the end of my last class today kinda took me for a loop. My stomach sank; it caught me off guard. I'm pretty sad the visionary who at one point owned PIXAR had to go at the young age of 56.
Having said that, Steve Jobs left such an impact on the world, and it's going to be around for quite a while. There's no doubt in my mind that his spirit and legacy are going to live on through his profound achievements. I'm sad he had to go so early, but I'm happy with what he managed to accomplished. I never really recognized it before, but now I realize how much of an inspiration he is to me. Someday, I want to be as well known as he is, and revolutionize the world in someway. The sun has set on his life, but it's made my light glow brighter. I thank Steve Jobs for setting me in a new direction. May he rest in peace.
